Eco Dye collection
The Eco Dye collection by el.résidu was developed in collaboration with the Saheli Women Center in India. For this collection, leftover silk and cotton fabrics were used, treated with a traditional eco dye technique. This natural dyeing method uses flowers, plants, and spices to create unique patterns and color nuances.
The fabrics are sprinkled with natural ingredients such as rose petals, indigo, and turmeric. During the dyeing process, these materials react unpredictably with the fabric, creating organic patterns that can never be exactly replicated. This makes each item one of a kind.
Handmade, natural and unique
Because the eco dye process is performed entirely by hand, no two designs are exactly alike. The colors and patterns are created in layers and are influenced by factors such as time, temperature, and material. It is precisely this natural variation that gives the collection its character and depth.
The collection includes silk pajama sets that are exceptionally soft and comfortable. Designed to be worn both at home and out, these sets combine comfort with a refined look, a stylish balance between loungewear and everyday wear.
Canceled items in a new design
The eco dye kaftan dresses in this collection also have a special story. They are made from rejected items from an earlier production that would otherwise have been lost. By subtly adjusting the design and enriching the fabrics with the eco dye technique, these dresses were given a second life.
The addition of drawstrings at the waist and neckline ensures a versatile fit, allowing the dresses to be styled both casually and formally, perfect as a vacation dress, beach outfit, or for an evening dinner.
