On April 22, '24 the SF-Collective launch event was held at Droog in Amsterdam, where the latest collections from all affiliated brands and retailers were presented to a select group of press, fashion enthusiasts and influencers.

In 2020, the Sustainable Fashion Giftcard platform was founded by Nanette Hogervorst (right in the photo) as a tool to put sustainable fashion brands and retailers more in the spotlight. However, it is not easy as a sustainable fashion label to stand out among the established fashion brands with huge budgets and to become known to the general public. This gave rise to the idea of setting up a joint PR program in addition to offering the gift card in order to increase the visibility of sustainable fashion and contribute to the growth of the affiliated brands.

I can proudly say that el.résidu has become a member and is now one of the fashion front runners of the SF-Collective. It is now possible to spend the Sustainable fashion gift card at el.résidu . See how you can exchange and redeem the card via this link. click here

The SF magazine was also launched during the event, in which all affiliated brands, including el.résidu, can be found. The first copy was presented to Lara Wolters , Member of the European Parliament (left in the photo). She gave a speech that day with a very positive message, namely that the anti-looking away law has been passed. A law that has been advocated for years by Mrs. Wolters. This "anti-snooping law" obliges large companies to take action when environmental or human rights rules are violated somewhere in their chain. This concerns problems in areas such as child labor, deforestation, forced labor and climate damage.

In addition to networking on this special day, there was also room for action!
Visitors could bring clothes to have them repaired on the spot or get behind the sewing machine themselves during one of the workshops.

On behalf of el.résidu , I (Ella) was also allowed to host a workshop twice. I had the students up-cycle a silk scarf. The eco-dye technique using flowers and herbs created the most beautiful and unique prints. The workshop was a nice ''look behind the scenes'' of how the eco-dye collection was developed by one of our partners from India Saheli women .

In short, a very inspiring day that will hopefully lead to many new successes for the Dutch sustainable fashion industry!
