Yay or nay?

It's about to happen - the crazy days are coming with huge discounts everywhere.

A few years ago, "GREEN FRIDAY" was introduced by several sustainable brands that made a statement by choosing NOT to participate in BF.

I understand the idea behind it; How can a brand be sustainable if it encourages excessive consumption through discounts and encourages people to buy, right?

But does this imply that as a sustainable brand you are not allowed to hold sales, offer discounts or promote your collections? As a young start-up brand, it is already quite challenging to grow your business, and when participating in these types of actions is considered something ''bad'' because you commit to sustainability, it becomes even more difficult...

And let's face it - we all like to buy something when it's on sale, right? So instead of judging people for buying on Black Friday, let's encourage and inspire people to make conscious decisions about what they buy and where and reward them with a discount!

That's why I came up with the following idea: From November 22 to December 1, there will be a 𝟑𝟎% discount on the entire el.residu collection. However, this discount is divided into two parts: you will receive a discount of 𝟏𝟓%, and the other 𝟏𝟓% will be donated to a wonderful organization called "The Blue House Project."

The Blue House Project is a non-profit organization founded to support underprivileged families living in tents in the desert of Pushkar (Rajasthan, India). These families live in a tent camp and lack basic needs, stable income and access to education. The BHP is committed to raising the living standards of these families and breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty. For more information, visit their website: "The Blue House Project."

Long story short: Yes, you can benefit from discounts during Black Friday, but I encourage you to choose wisely and make a conscious decision by supporting brands and projects that aim to make the world a better place 🌎🙏
